COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT.

Established in 1998, our Community Centre has been a source of connection for many in the community. The interesting and diverse range of community engagement opportunities happen across our 2 locations in Moggill and Mt Crosby!

Over the years, there has always been a focus on supporting other charities and organisations through donations of cash, quilts, food, presents for kids, and more. Recipients include: The McIntyre Centre, Ipswich Women’s Refuge, the Koala Hospital, school chaplaincy, devastated communities after floods (Echuca) and fire (Tara), and many more.

Our current groups and activities are:

  • Book Club

  • Garden Club

  • Patchwork + Quilting Group

  • Quilting and Craft Group

  • Friday Group (history & other interesting topics)

  • Crafty Catchup Group

  • Pre-Loved Clothes and Book Shop

Details on each group - what we do, when we meet, who to contact, and much more - are all in the posters below.

If you are interested in joining a group you are welcome to just come on the day. Alternatively, you can contact the group coordinator for more info or contact us through the “Contact” button below.

Bookclub

We are a supportive, friendly group who are very tolerant of differing views on books we read.

The members of the club choose the books to read each month, then at the next meeting take it in turns to discuss the book. If you don’t like the chosen book, find reading difficult or have circumstances which stop you reading it - that’s okay! Come anyway for the time of friendship and support.

Our group of readers really value diversity. We would love to see new members, especially men, so that we can experience different opinions and genre and have lively discussions. Come along and join us for lots of laughs, great reads and stimulating conversation.

We meet in the “Chapel” which is the old church building on the corner. of Moggill and Kangaroo Gully Roads. Tea and coffee provided.

Garden club

A keen group of gardeners who like to learn, to share ideas or to look for inspiration from others.

Our meetings each month start with morning tea and a trade table on the verandah of the main church building. If you would like to share your garden with others, we would appreciate donations of cuttings or plants (or pots, books etc) to be sold on the trade table.

Following morning tea we move inside to listen to the guest speaker.

Some months we meet at 9:30 in the carpark and carpool to visit local gardens.

Everyone is welcome to join!!
